Shri G. S. Institute of Technology and Science, Indore was established in 1952. It is a grant-in-aid Institution of Government of Madhya Pradesh. The institute is academically autonomous since 1989. It is the most preferred institute by the under graduate and post graduate students of the state. It offers 10 Under-Graduate and 17 Post-Graduate programs in Engineering, Technology, Science and  Pharmacy. All the departments in the institute offer Ph. D. degree program. The institute is also a QIP center of MHRD, Govt. of India for M.E. and Ph.D. The institute has actively participated in TEQIP program of world bank. The institute has been consistently ranked high in major national surveys conducted by various agencies for the best engineering colleges of the country.
